"Existing Landscapes" Toru Kinjo & Sayaka Sonoda Duo Exhibition
Exhibition Period:August 19 – August 31, 2026
HOTEL ANTEROOM NAHA is pleased to present "Existing Landscapes," a duo exhibition featuring Toru Kinjo and Haruka Sonoda, at GALLERY 9.5 NAHA.
Having studied together at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts and continuing their creative practices in Okinawa, both artists direct their gaze toward the subtle scenes and phenomena hidden within everyday life, continuously questioning their true essence. Kinjo offers fresh perspectives across various mediums and techniques by taking a bird’s-eye view of his relationship with his subjects. Sonoda delves deep into her motifs, using light and shadow to depict the inherent beauty that often goes unnoticed in our daily routines.
Overlooking the harbor, where the seascape seamlessly transitions between calm and tempestuous moods, the gallery becomes a space where diverse visitors and the artists' works converge—bringing a new landscape to the hotel.
We look forward to welcoming you.
