【26.4.29.Wed-6.7.Sun】RYUKYU INDIGO LABO「We explore the Blue.」

Hotel Anteroom Naha is pleased to present “We explore the Blue.”, the first solo exhibition by RYUKYU INDIGO LABO, held at GALLERY 9.5 NAHA on the 2nd floor.
Five years have passed since the studio began its indigo dyeing practice in Okinawa.
Ryukyu Indigo Laboratory carries out every step of the process locally—from cultivating indigo plants to producing dye and completing the dyeing—continuing its craft while working closely with nature.
However, in November 2024, record-breaking heavy rainfall struck the northern part of Okinawa’s main island, causing significant damage to the laboratory’s fields and storage facilities, which serve as the base of its activities. Even today, the path toward recovery remains challenging.
Despite these circumstances, the laboratory continues its work with the belief of “walking together with indigo,” led by its representative, Yoshinari Kakazu.
This exhibition offers an opportunity to experience the deep and beautiful shades of blue created through that dedication.
In addition to products by RYUKYU INDIGO LABO, items by Okinawa-based apparel brand LEQUIO will also be exhibited and available for purchase.
We invite you to experience the indigo colors born from Okinawa’s nature and human hands.
