Earth Day, observed annually on April 22nd, is a global occasion to reflect on our environment, express gratitude to nature, and take meaningful action for a sustainable future.
Hotel Anteroom Naha will hold a special event in honor of Earth Day from Saturday, April 18th to Friday, April 24th, 2026.
We offer experiences that care for the future of our planet, such as a workshop to transform marine debris into beautiful accessories (or keychains), the sale of sustainable drinks that rescue "imperfect" vegetables, and a "Lights Down" initiative to reduce power consumption.
■ Marine Debris Upcycling Workshop
“Take a piece of Okinawa. Giving shape to fragments of Okinawa. Upcycled workshop.”
We are hosting a workshop led by "jiyukimama," a brand dedicated to upcycling plastic waste into new products.
While enjoying the view of Tomari Port at Hotel Anteroom Naha, participants will create a one-of-a-kind accessory (or keychain) while engaging in a brief mini-lecture about the current state of our oceans and the philosophy of upcycling.
Dates: Saturday, April 18 & Sunday, April 19, 2026

Fee: 3,300 yen (Includes a drink)

Additionally, during the event period, an exhibition and sale of upcycled accessories by “jiyukimama” will be held in the 2nd-floor lounge. Featuring items designed to brighten your daily life under the concept of “Ethical living—stylish, fun, and free-spirited,” a variety of products will be on display.
■ Sale of "Rescue" Sustainable Drinks
At the 2nd-floor lounge, we will offer Anteroom’s original “Rescue Drinks,” made using fruits and vegetables that would otherwise be discarded due to irregular shapes. These will be available at a special Earth Day price. Experience the beauty of the food cycle through drinks that highlight the natural flavors of their ingredients, such as our 100% “Chura Carrot” juice—utilizing nutrient-rich specialty carrots from Itoman City—and the “Gripee Smoothie,” crafted from young soybean leaves by the Taman Welfare Association.
■ Lights-Down Initiative to Reduce CO2 Emissions
As part of our commitment to reducing electricity consumption and carbon emissions, we will turn off some of the lighting in the common areas on the first and second floors during nighttime hours throughout the event period. We invite you to enjoy a relaxing evening in the softly dimmed interior of the hotel, reflecting on the future of our shared home.
