【26.3.28.Sat-29.Sun】Silent Auction

Exhibition Period:Sat, March 28 – Sun, March 29, 2026

Doorless Art Okinawa, a platform dedicated to the promotion of art by people with disabilities, will present Okinawa’s first-ever silent auction featuring "Art Brut" (Doorless Art) at Hotel Anteroom Naha.

This silent auction—a milestone initiative for the organization—differs from traditional auctions where bidders openly compete. Instead, it offers a space where guests can quietly contemplate each work before placing a bid at their chosen price. For those unable to visit in person, online participation is also available. The venue is designed to foster a sense of focused, "comfortable tension," allowing visitors to truly engage with the artworks and their underlying social value.

We invite you to experience this unique opportunity to determine the value of a piece yourself and encounter art that deeply resonates with you. We look forward to your presence.

〇Message from Mariya Goya, Representative Director of Doorless Art Okinawa

For this event, we have chosen the "Silent Auction" format as a new endeavor, moving beyond our traditional exhibition and sales model. We believe this process allows a wider audience to experience the journey from "appreciation" to "acquisition"—a collaborative step in understanding the value of art.

What is art? We look forward to seeing how our core philosophy, "#ArtHasNoBoundaries"—which envisions a world where there is no divide between people with and without disabilities—reaches individuals both within and outside Okinawa through this auction. It is our sincere hope that this silent auction serves as a gateway to Doorless Art, encouraging people to bring these works into their daily lives and realize that there is no distinction between the creations of able-bodied and disabled artists—only art that speaks directly to the soul.
