Work Commentary:
Motivated by an interest in the uncertainty of visual information and the hidden structures behind what we see, I regard painting as a site where relationships emerge between vision and perception. Through painterly elements such as layering and the interaction of adjacent colors, I seek to make visible the ambiguity and fluctuation inherent in the act of looking.

It is a great honor to have my work displayed in the light-filled entrance, where it can be the first to welcome visitors to Hotel Anteroom Naha. I hope that the natural sunlight will allow viewers to appreciate even more deeply the textures and materiality of the paint.

A hotel is a place where one can experience a moment suspended between the everyday and the extraordinary. I would be delighted if, within that moment, you take the time to quietly engage with the various works on display.
