Work Commentary:
I make art as an act of picking up trivial phenomena that I am not aware of in my daily
life. And I think about the preciousness of the space and time that surrounds it and
myself. Choosing surface textures and colors is based upon my understanding that
doing so is something akin to grasping an untouchable thing, like the scent of bubbles,
with my hand.

Saya Mimura

Born in Mie Prefecture in 1997. Completed from the master course at Kyoto University
of the Arts in 2022. By saving the trifles and routines in everyday life in drawings and
photos, and by substituting them for silkscreen and painting, “instants” are captured on
screen.
