Work Commentary:
I create works that capture the era in which I am living. I use the colors and materials that, for instance, catch my eye as I walk through the city. The “present landscape in which I live” is cropped like a snapshot and accumulates within me as a series of fragmented images. What once existed vaguely as a single, coherent view of the contemporary world becomes dismantled into independent elements with no mutual relationships, eventually transforming into colors and materials.
From this accumulation, I select and combine images either at random or according to the intuitive algorithms of my body. The collisions between colors and materials that emerge through this process generate a sense of visual dissonance, while simultaneously evoking the atmosphere of the era that surrounds me.
