Artist's Statement:
Clay collected in Okinawa is individually shaped into beads and fired, then woven from the center outwards in a circular pattern. The tension of the string and the collision of the beads create waves, and the act of weaving itself becomes the structure. This is similar to the formation of coral. The process of handwork naturally becomes the structure of the work itself, and the movement of the next part is also designed, gradually creating the final form.

Terracotta is usually perceived as heavy and voluminous, I created this piece with the image of giving it movement.
