CRAFT
Kadena Go and Kadena Yukari / Kakuman Lacquerware
This Ryukyu lacquer art piece was created in collaboration between Kakuman Lacquerware and UDS, using the unique Ryukyu lacquer decoration technique known as "tsuikin." It was inspired by the layers of STRATA and the sunset seen from the 15th floor. The layers representing STRATA and the sunset seen from the 15th floor are used as motifs to express the lacquer's varying colors and textures. Using colors and textures not seen in traditional Ryukyu lacquerware, this piece explores new possibilities for Ryukyu lacquerware expression.
