I find that things born naturally are the most beautiful. Perhaps it's a contradiction for me to knead clay and create something like that. I purposely avoid altering the clay as much as possible to preserve its inherent qualities. I believe there's a strength and beauty in the colors and molten shapes that emerge when the clay is fired without destroying its inherent components and properties. When fired in a wood-fired kiln, using the power of flames beyond human control, the pieces are uneven and somewhat imperfect, resulting in a one-of-a-kind expression. While it's inconvenient to be unable to create the same piece twice, I'm fascinated by the clay's transformations, which exceed my imagination, and pursue the unknown, hoping to express the unique expressions of the clay.
