Amenities Made from Reclaimed Kutani Clay
Kutani ware, one of Japan’s most renowned styles of colored porcelain, is produced in Ishikawa Prefecture. However, nearly 20% of its raw material is discarded during the production process. The Une saucers by Taniguchi Seidojo are crafted by refining and repurposing this discarded clay, using a glaze derived from the remaining material. This approach preserves the natural beauty of the clay while being resourceful.
